Aging, in one word sucks. The sun spots, the wrinkles, the thinning hair, the slower metabolism, gravity…it all happens. To every single one of us. It’s inevitable. In an effort to battle aging, I’ve realized I need to work harder at making exercise a priority and eating better (what else is new?).
Part of working on myself is eating right and using the right supplements that fit my body’s needs. I don’t know about you, but for me it is easier to add extra supplements to my morning green smoothie and acai bowl to ensure I get what I need. Proteins are a must for everyone, but add collagen to the mix and it is like the fountain of youth! Not only is collagen vital for our skin, hair, nails, and joints, it is what helps us appear more youthful and is essential for our overall wellbeing.
I started using Collagen Beauty Greens and Marine Collagen powders from Vital Proteins in basically anything and everything I can think of. I use the Collagen Beauty Greens in my smoothies, juices, and omelets because of the greenie taste and color and I use the Marine Collagen in my yogurt and granola, as a dip for my strawberries, and in my coffee and oatmeal. In the past I would be hesitant in adding protein to my food because of the obvious taste, but both of these proteins do not have an overly powerful taste (or smell for that matter) and don’t take away from the flavors of the food.
Other than tasting great and giving me the added benefits of collagen, the main reason I use these particular proteins is because they are made from organic products, are non GMO, wild caught, gluten free, and that I can read and understand the ingredients list. I also love the simple, clean packaging of these powders. This is helpful because instead of hiding them in my pantry where they can be neglected and forgotten, I can leave them out on my kitchen counter where they are easily accessible and guaranteed to be used on a daily basis.
I am a true believer in what you put inside your body reflects on the outside. By using these organic, essential proteins I’ve definitely noticed smoother, more glowing skin, improved elasticity, shinier and thicker hair, and healthier nails. Aside from my appearance, I’ve also noticed that I am able to push myself a little harder at the gym and that my body recovers faster after a workout. But who cares what I think right, it’s what others say about you that validates the claim. And if I’m being told I look ten years younger than I really am, who am I to stop my current routine and mess with a great compliment? Just saying.

You’re still young, but it definitely doesn’t hurt to get started early. =)
Ohhh, I’m going to have to try this out. Thanks for the tip and inspiration.
I normally don’t add protein powders just because I don’t like the taste, but as a woman, I feel like we do need more collagen so this is perfect and I love how it is natural and organic.
Definitely need to try these!! Thanks for the tip!
Yes it’s worth a try, you won’t be disappointed!
Thank you for sharing, I always need to add protein to my diet but i am not a fan of the powders (with so much sugar added)

I totally agree! A little extra does of protein and collagen never hurts right? Thank you Falasha for reading!
Nice! I’m definitely going to have to give these supplements a try. I was actually looking for a collagen supplement. Excited to try them! Thanks for the tip!
Yes as women we totally need added collagen so a protein + collagen combo is perfect!
I am so bad at being healthy! I have good resolutions – eat better/ exercise more but the reality is eat pizza in front of NetFlix! I think that adding a supplement to my morning routine is definitely a good idea as it’s the easiest time of day to be healthy! I will definitely check these out!

I totally understand. Once you fall off the wagon it’s so hard to get back on. And staying on is even harder. Honestly I think if you wake up with the motivation to eat better and even get some sort of exercise and start with a great morning smoothie or meal, it definitely makes a HUGE difference how you eat the rest of the day. I love NetFlix too! What are some of your fav shows?
I cannot get over how gorgeous these photos are!! You take great photos LOL. Great blog post girlie.

I totally agree, supplements can be tricky but it’s always good when two amazing things like protein and collagen are combined into one. You can always order them online directly or via Amazon too. =)
No wonder you look so amazing!! But seriously, protein and collagen are SO important for us women to consume. Thank you for sharing – I swear you take the best flat lay photos of anyone I’ve ever seen!
