Remember when I talked about balance? I love mixing short and long hemlines to create balance in my outfits. As spring rolls around, the perfect way to mix hemlines is to use the ubiquitous trench coat. I love a classic trench, but for warmer weather, I’ve been loving the lightweight trenches that when the wind blows or when you walk, the jacket just flows so beautifully around you. I’ll let you in on a little secret…most of my outfits are really simple. But when I add that ONE piece, it all of a sudden goes from simple to statement. This outfit is a tee shirt and cut offs. You don’t get more simple than that. I add a trench to these basics and then it isn’t so basic anymore. A statement piece doesn’t have to be expensive, it just has to add a little something extra (not cost extra).
