SUMMER TESTED | SKINCARE FAVS

I know I said I would be doing my skincare favorites every month, but here we are three months later and I am writing August’s skincare favs. The good thing is that the three months allowed me to use my products longer to see which ones I really liked. / Sunday Riley Good Genes /
You guys, I am hooked on this! I actually spoke in depth about Sunday Riley products with their founder at an event and was sold on this Good Genes Lactic Acid Treatment. The beauty of this hero product is that it exfoliates dull skin, has licorice for enhanced brightening, and smooths and plumps skin while hydrating (it’s like a magic potion)! The rep told me the best thing about this is to use before all your other products because the lactic acid also help absorb the other products you layer on better into the skin. I love this advice because with all the serums, lotions, etc. I put on my face, sometimes it’s hard to know what order everything goes in. I’ve been using Good Genes for about 3 months now and have bought this for friends, recommended it to everyone I know, and truly love this product (not being paid to say this either).

It is a tad pricey but worth it in my opinion. If you want to give it a try, they sell a smaller version which will last you several months too so you can really test it out. Some people say they feel a slight sling when putting it on, but I haven’t had that experience and I use it twice a day morning and night.

/ Sunday Riley C.E.O. Rapid Flash Brightening Serum /
I started using this serum about a month ago because I am always looking for brightening serums that work, and am starting to see the benefits of this vitamin C packed serum. The thing about any vitamin C serum you use is that you have to be mindful that vitamin C is highly unstable and even the wrong type of packaging will cause it to oxidize no longer being beneficial to you (in fact, sometimes doing more damage to your skin cells). The C.E.O. Rapid Flash serum is infused with 15 percent ultra-stable, advanced vitamin C which also oil-soluable and helps quickly absorb into the skin. I recently started breaking out (from bad eating and stress) and this has helped tremendously help get rid of some old acne scars and brighten my overall skin texture.

/ Youth To The People Superfood Skin Reset Antioxidant Mask /
As I mentioned, I was breaking out over the past month mainly on my forehead and this mask has been doing wonders for me. All the amazing greens and foods you should be eating have been packed into this mask (seagreens spirulina, bioactive micro algae, kale, spinach, and green tea) to deliver antioxidants, phytonutrients, essential amino acids, vitamins and minerals to restore and rejuvenate skin. It smells amazing (like Nectar Juice Bar) and makes my skin feel hydrated (not drying at all for a clay mask), smooth, and refreshed. I wish they made a smoothie like this too so I could just drink it as well.

/ Double Dare Pulling Gel /
This wash off mask is quite impressive. This is not for your entire face, just for your T-zone area. This pulling gel gently pulls away stubborn blackheads, exfoliates with strawberry seeds and dissolves dead skin cells for a clean complexion. You put it on your T-Zone area on a damp, cleansed face. It starts warming up (so cool and you feel likes it’s actually doing something) and you massage into your nose and forehead in circular motions. I have the Mini Brush that I use with the mask to exfoliate deeper into my pores. You can feel the papaya enzymes tighten pores and it also has alpha hydroxy and glycolic acids to help brighten. I use this twice a week and I feel like the pores on my nose and blackheads are getting smaller!

/ ReFa Carat Roller /
Let’s be honest, I don’t have any extra minutes to spend rolling my face, but if I am going to do it, I want something easy and fast. I have the NuFace toning device which I still use, but when it’s gotta be fast, I always reach for my ReFa roller. This roller is the best because you don’t need to plug it in to charge it and you don’t need to use any additional serums with it! You just roll over your clean face (after all your skincare is done) or on top of a sheet mask to roll and massage the serums in deeper. For the summer days, I have been keeping this roller in my freezer and when I use it it is cold and feels great against my skin.

How it works is that it has a 360 degree multi-angle roll that mimics a deep kneading action to tone and circulate your skin. It feels like its griping and gliding against your skin. It’s soothing and relaxing and honestly it’s just easy to use!
